After our Thanksgiving Dress Rehearsal early in the week (see post below), we were more than ready for the real deal on Thursday. Unfortunately, we were apparently too busy eating all the delicious food to take any pictures of it, so you'll have to just take our word for the fact that it was all delicious. The spread included turkey substitute (a.k.a. chicken), dressing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, mac n cheese, cranberry salad, cranberry sauce, and yeast rolls. Then of course there was a table full of desserts, including pecan pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, and chocolate four-layer dessert. We ate until we were stuffed, then ate a little more. Then we waited a little while and ate some more.
Then we gathered up the kids to for a rousing game of the old Thanksgiving classic, "Pin the Pilgrim Hat on the Turkey."
It was a big hit!
Here are two little turkeys smiling for someone else's camera.
Then we did a little singing and sharing together. We have so much to be thankful for!
And in the end, all the Thanksgiving excitement got the best of Sawyer. He crashed on the couch while the rest of the kids watched Polar Express.
We're so thankful for the good food, but even more so for the good friends we got to share it with. It was a laughter-filled, relaxing day. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

We had that exact same pin the hat on the turkey game at Good News Club last week! It makes me so happy to know that your kiddos played it, too!
